For more than two decades, Dr. Toby Cheramie shaped the future of dentistry from one of the most respected dental schools in the country. As Associate Dean of Admissions, Student Services, and Alumni Affairs at LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry, he reviewed thousands of applications, interviewed hundreds of candidates, and built the very criteria that determined who earned a seat in the program.

Dr. Cheramie's perspective is uniquely complete. He earned his DDS from LSU School of Dentistry himself — so he knows what it feels like to be an applicant, to prepare for interviews, and to navigate the uncertainty of the process. He then spent a decade in private dental practice before returning to LSU as an instructor, eventually rising to full professor over his 20-year tenure. He has seen this journey from every angle: as a student, a clinician, a faculty member, and a gatekeeper.

After retiring in September 2025, Dr. Cheramie founded Cheramie Admissions Consulting with a singular mission: to give serious, driven applicants the informed, strategic guidance they need to compete at the highest level.
